Queens, NY – Tragedy struck in Queens yesterday afternoon when a teenage girl was killed and her younger sister seriously injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision. Authorities report that around 3:30 p.m. on June 26, an incident occurred on 46th Street close to 47th Avenue, near Woodside Intermediate School 125, involving a delivery truck that struck the two siblings.
The 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene, while her younger sister was rushed with critical injuries to Cornell Hospital. The truck driver initially fled the location but was located a block away from the accident site.
