In a tragic incident in West Hempstead, a 20-year-old woman has been sentenced to three to nine years in prison for her involvement in a high-speed crash that resulted in the deaths of two teenagers. Nylah Frazier, who resides in West Hempstead, received her sentence on May 22, as announced by the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.
The fatal crash occurred in approximately 1 a.m. Frazier was driving a BMW X3 northbound on Westminster Road when she exceeded speeds of 100 miles per hour. Frazier ran a red light and subsequently lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the rear of a parked dump truck.
The force of the collision caused the BMW to flip, resulting in the ejection of two passengers: 17-year-old Amanda Arguinzoni and 19-year-old Kurtis Caesar. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. Arguinzoni was a senior student at West Hempstead High School, while Caesar had recently graduated from Cambria Heights Academy in Queens and was employed by FedEx at the time of his death.
Following a detailed investigation, Frazier surrendered to the Nassau County Police in July 2022. District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly emphasized the reckless nature of Frazier’s actions, noting, “Nylah Frazier recklessly careened through
