Queens, NY (April 8, 2024) – A serious incident early on Sunday morning left two women injured as a vehicle lost control in Queens. At approximately 5 a.m., a red sedan, traveling south on Steinway Street, veered off the road. The car plowed into an outdoor dining area and collided with a parked vehicle, subsequently striking two pedestrians in the vicinity of 25th and 28th Avenues.
The injured women, aged 22 and 32, were rapidly transported to Elmhurst Hospital by emergency responders. They were reported to be in stable condition following the accident. Authorities have confirmed that the driver of the sedan, 30-year-old Whitney Walker, was taken into custody at the scene. Charges pressed against Walker include vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated (DWI), reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief.
