On the Upper East Side of Manhattan, a violent altercation resulting from road rage led to a catastrophic event on Tuesday evening. Two 28-year-old men engaged in a fierce vehicular conflict across the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge following a near-collision in Queens amidst pouring rain. Their aggressive driving skirmish continued until they reached E. 62nd St. and Lexington Ave., where their vehicles ultimately collided around 7 p.m.
Upon the collision, the argument escalated when both drivers exited their vehicles and confronted each other. The confrontation reached a critical point when Antal Lakatos, one of the drivers, drew a knife and attacked the other, inflicting multiple stab wounds to the face and neck. Lakatos was arrested and faces assault charges for the stabbing. His court proceedings were set to begin with an arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court the following Wednesday.
