Man Sustains Injuries in Train Incident at Forest Hills-71st Avenue Station

Car accident in Queens

Queens, NY – A hand injury was reported after an individual was hit by a train at the Forest Hills-71st Ave station on Tuesday afternoon, April 16th. The incident occurred shortly before half-past two, interrupting the schedules of several subway lines and prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

The accident led to extensive delays on the E, F, M, and R subway lines, with M trains being detoured via the J line from Delancey St/Essex St to Chambers St for a period of time. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) recommended travelers to make use of alternate routes including N, W, and the No. 7 trains to navigate around the disrupted service areas.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is currently investigating the incident, which they believe to have been unintentional. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are piecing together the sequence of events leading up to the mishap.

The incident briefly threw a wrench into the city’s transit system, but normal service resumed shortly after the affected subway lines were cleared. Commuters experienced a slight hiccup in their travel plans but were able to continue their journeys as the subway service bounced back into operation.

The MTA and NYPD are working closely to understand the circumstances of the accident and are expected to release detailed findings upon completion of the ongoing investigation.
