In a tragic incident on Thursday, May 9, a fatal two-vehicle collision resulted in one casualty on Long Island. The crash occurred around 5:10 p.m. in Brookville.
According to Nassau County police reports, the accident involved a motorcycle and a dump truck at the intersection of Cedar Swamp Road and Hemlock Drive. A 28-year-old male motorcyclist was heading north on Cedar Swamp Road riding a 2002 Yamaha when he collided with a 2000 Hino Dump Truck. The truck, driven by a 55-year-old male, was making a turn from Hemlock Drive onto Cedar Swamp Road when the crash took place.
The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic from the Jericho Fire Department. As of the report, the identity of the deceased has yet to be released to the public.
No additional injuries were reported following the collision.
