Vehicle Collision Sparks Residential Fire in Rensselaerville

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a car accident in Rensselaerville, located in Albany County, New York, resulted in a blazing residential fire. The incident began when a vehicle crashed into a home at 3180 Route 145, setting the building aflame.

The Tri-Village Volunteer Fire Company responded swiftly to the emergency call at 1:05 a.m. and managed to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes. Firefighting operations concluded around 5:00 a.m., with the firefighters working diligently to extinguish the fire, as seen in footage shared on the fire company’s social media.

Despite the severity of the fire, there were no grave injuries reported. An off-duty paramedic from Greene County was credited with aiding in the evacuation of the affected individuals from the dangerous scene. Nevertheless, the house and the vehicle involved in the crash were both completely destroyed.

The property was a weekend residence for New York City dwellers, who sadly lost all possessions except for the clothing they had on at the time of the incident. The 26-acre property, which includes a house and a barn and is assessed at $119,005, is registered to Anthony Esposito of Long Island City, Queens.

Following the incident, Esposito expressed gratitude towards the fire company for their efforts in saving his barn and the support provided to him and his spouse.
