In a tragic turn of events, a severe car accident in the Bronx claimed the lives of two individuals and left two others fighting for their lives. The fatal incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning, around 3:20 a.m., near Bryant and Viele avenues in the Hunts Point area.
The NYPD reported that a white Chrysler 300 operated by a 23-year-old male collided with a stationary, vacant truck. Responding emergency services sadly discovered two occupants, pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The deceased have been identified as 21-year-old Gilvante Roberson from Brooklyn and 15-year-old Sabrina Villa-Gomez from Long Island. Furthermore, the Chrysler’s driver and a 17-year-old female passenger were rushed to medical facilities with severe injuries and are listed in critical condition. The two were divided between NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem and St. Barnabas Hospital to receive the urgent care required.
At this time, the driver of the Chrysler has not been detained.
