In a startling incident on Long Island, Nassau County police have reported the theft of a 2019 Audi Q7 with a woman asleep in the backseat. The car was taken from a shopping center located at 417 S. Oyster Bay Road on Saturday night.
The vehicle was left idling while the woman’s husband and another man briefly visited The French Workshop bakery. While they were inside, a male perpetrator entered the Audi and drove away, inadvertently waking the sleeping woman as the car was maneuvered.
Upon discovering the woman in the backseat, the car thief brandished a knife and compelled her to exit the vehicle. She complied and was left unharmed as the car sped off heading north on S. Oyster Bay Road. The authorities have disclosed that no physical injuries were sustained during the incident.
Nassau County Police are actively investigating the case. The search for the suspect and the stolen Audi Q7 continues, as law enforcement officials have not yet made any arrests in relation to the theft.
