Tricia Smith joined the Law Office of Cohen & Jaffe in 2016 and specializes in personal injury and no-fault insurance litigation. Ms. Smith splits her time between overseeing the no-fault litigation and arbitration department for the firm, and day-to-day handling of her own personal injury caseload. Her thorough, analytical approach to the legal, medical, and fee coding issues in these cases has earned her the respect of clients, colleagues and adversaries. Ms. Smith has also engaged in Appellate Practice and has argued before the New York Court of Appeals.
Tricia takes pride in her work product. She has won hundreds of arbitrations and is a skilled negotiator with a proven record of success at pre-trial settlement negotiations, resulting in millions of dollars secured for her clients.
Tricia also takes pride in establishing a personal relationship with her clients and makes every effort to guide them through the case process to make it less confusing and more transparent. Her rapport with clients and proven record of success has earned her several five-star google reviews as a result.
Tricia also has unique perspective that is advantageous to her clients, as she has worked on both the plaintiff and defendant side in insurance litigation, thereby providing her the skills to negotiate with difficult insurance carriers. She has also previously worked for a Chief Justice, giving her behind-the-scenes insight from a judicial perspective as to how to properly prepare and prosecute litigation matters.
Tricia was born, raised and currently lives in Queens with her beloved husband and their fur-baby, Margaret May (aka “Maggie”).
